Register now for ‘Color Out Cancer’ run/walk

Color Out Cancer 2015All runners and walkers are invited to register now for the 2015 Relay for Life “Color Out Cancer” 5K run/walk scheduled for Saturday, April 25, as part of the Relay for Life of Greene County.

Following its debut in 2014, this year’s color run/walk is back by popular demand. Participants of all ages and abilities are encouraged to join in this noncompetitive fun run/walk.

The Color Out Cancer 5K course will follow the route used during the Bell Tower Festival’s Ding Dong Dash. Checkpoints along the course will feature five different color stations each representing a different type of cancer. At each station, volunteers will blast the T-shirts of runners and walkers with one color of powder. The goal is to cross the finish line with the most colorful shirt. The registration fee includes a white “Color Out Cancer” T-shirt sponsored by American Athletic | Spalding and ShineOn Designs.

Check-in and registration will begin at 9:30 am at the Greene County Community Center. The run/walk will begin at 10:30.

Please note the 2015 Color Run has a few important changes:

  • Advanced registration is required and limited to the first 300 registrants. All those who register will receive a wrist band which will allow them receive the special T-shirt, to enter the color tunnels, and enjoy a complimentary lunch.
  • 5K registration fee is $25 for those age 13 and older, and $15 for those age 12 and under.

Completed forms can be dropped off or mailed to GCCC, 204 W. Harrison St, Jefferson, IA 50129. Checks should be made payable to American Cancer Society. Updates will be posted on the website www.relayforlife.org/greenecountyia
