Medical center scholarship applications now available

Applications for scholarships offered by Greene County Medical Center Foundation and auxiliary are now being accepted with a deadline of March 20, 2015.

The medical center foundation and auxiliary offer two different health care scholarships. The purpose of both scholarships is to lend financial aid to students in Greene County or the Greene County Medical Center service area to help obtain education in a health-related field.

The first scholarship, offered by the medical center foundation, is up to $1,000 per year for up to four years to persons in the medical center service area who are entering or are already attending college in a health care field.

The second scholarship is from the medical center’s auxiliary which offers six $500 scholarships to persons in the medical center service area who are entering or are already attending college in a health care field. The auxiliary scholarship requires a 15-minute interview, which will be scheduled either on the morning of Saturday, April 4, or the afternoon of Wednesday, April 8.

Scholarship applications, as well as references and transcripts, are due by Friday, March 20.  All applications, references and transcripts must be sent or delivered to Jessica Peckumn at Greene County Medical Center by the deadline. Interview appointments can be set up immediately.

Application forms and requirements have been sent to area high schools and local libraries, and are also available on the medical center website at www.gcmchealth.com. Look under the “about us” tab and click on scholarship information.
