In Greene County district court Donald Duane Daniel, 42, of Scranton was sentenced Dec. 12 to 60 days in jail after he pleaded guilty to a charge of assault-serious. The jail term was suspended and he was placed on informal probation for one year. He was fined $315 with a $110.25 surcharge. Court costs were $100. In a companion case in magistrate court a charge against Daniel of disorderly conduct was dismissed. (Sentencing: Honorable Adria A. Kester)
Jesse Kenneth J. Summerfield, 32, of Churdan was sentenced to two years in prison on a charge of driving while license barred. The prison term was suspended and he was placed on probation for one year. He was fined $625 with a $218.75 surcharge; the fine and surcharge were suspended. He must pay $120 restitution for his court appointed attorney’s fees and $100 court costs. (Sentencing: Kester)
Persons pleaded not guilty at arraignments as follows: Anthony Wayne Genovese, 23, of Des Moines, criminal mischief-fourth degree; Hollie Jericka Millard, 23, of Jefferson, criminal mischief-fourth degree; Larry Lee Warren Varnell, 21, of Churdan, driving while license barred and providing alcohol to person under age, and in a separate case, driving while license barred; Brock Brent Stoner, 25, of Jefferson, driving while license revoked; Amanda Pamela Collogan, 29, of Grand Junction, operating while intoxicated (OWI)-first offense; Rafael Partida Jr, 20, of Jefferson, harassment-first degree; Amanda Nicole Christensen, 21, of Fort Dodge, OWI-first offense; Lawrence Shannon O’Neal, 40, of Grand Junction, OWI-second offense and driving while license revoked; and Jose Luis Guitierrez Franco, 30, of Norfolk, NE, OWI-first. Trial dates were set for Jan. 27 in every case.
A case was initiated against Lisa Nicole Pierce, 35, of Carroll on a charge of possession of marijuana-third or subsequent offense.
