PAWS is doing 12 Cats of Christmas

PAWS (People for Animal Welfare Society) has an abundance of cats and kittens, and the volunteers would like to see them in forever homes for Christmas. “We are aware that for some, getting a new pet at the holidays might not be the best idea – higher levels of stress, anxiety and excitement may enter into the picture,” a spokesperson said. “However, if you’ve seriously thought about bringing a new pet into your home and are truly ready for a forever friend, then now’s the time.

PAWS has set a goal of adopting out 12 cats in 12 days, Twelve Cats of Christmas, Dec. 10-21, and has reduced the adoption fee to $25 for those days.

All the available cats have been spayed or neutered and microchipped. They are current on all vaccinations and testing.

Persons who are interested in adopting one a PAWS cat, or who would like to foster one of the “fabulous felines,” can call the PAWS voicemail at 515-386-9814 and leave a message. A PAWS volunteer will return the call within 24 hours. Emails can be sent to pawsofgreenecounty@hotmail.com

“Please spread the word. We really need your help to make this work,” the spokesperson said. “All of our cats/kittens at the Greene County Animal Shelter are wonderful animals and deserve to have that special, loving, forever home. Please help us to help them.”
