There will be a benefit lunch and auctions next Sunday, Oct. 26, for 18-year-old Macy Owen, who is fighting an aggressive form of leukemia.
Macy is the daughter of Katie and Chad Owen of Scranton and a 2014 graduate of Glidden-Ralston high school. She was diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukemia B-cell last June, just days after her 18th birthday and less than a month after her graduation. She is undergoing intensive chemotherapy at Bliss Cancer Center in Ames.
Macy’s ‘Owen Strong’ benefit will include a meal served from 11 am to 1 pm, with bidding on silent auction items closing at 1 pm. A live auction will follow. Proceeds will help cover family expenses related to Macy’s illness.
Macy’s mother Katie is a registered nurse at Greene County Medical Center and her father Chad works at B & D in Jefferson. It is co-workers of Katie who are planning the benefit.
Persons who would like more information or to donate items to the auction can contact Kathi Hoskins at 515-370-4424, Crystal Morh at 515-370-2731, or Heather Shipley at 515-370-1244.
