Deal’s Fall Festival…. a smaller version of the Iowa State Fair

Deals fallThe annual Fall Festival at Deal’s Orchard Saturday was a lot like the Iowa State Fair, but right in Greene County! There were lots of people, animals, live entertainment, fun activities, and vendors selling many good things to eat!

Jerald and Cindy Deal both said Saturday’s crowd was just about the biggest they’ve ever had at the orchard, and Sunday’s weather forecast calls for another near perfect day. The orchard will be open from 10 am to 6 pm for the second day of the Fall Festival.

Deals fiddlersFiddler Dave Bellegante (middle) and a couple of buddies entertained with boot-tapping tunes. According to Jerald Deal, Bellegante won the Iowa State Fair fiddling contest so many times that he became one of its organizers, to let other people have a chance at winning.
