There are no large parades or events planned for the Labor Day holiday in Greene County, but all government offices, as well as banks and most stores, will be closed.
The Greene County Community Center remains open many holidays when the city office and the library are closed, but Labor Day isn’t one of them. The community center will be closed Sept. 1 and will reopen Tuesday at 5 am. The fall sessions of fitness classes start early Tuesday morning. See the post under the Good News tab for information.
The Jefferson municipal pool closes for most human swimmers Friday at 1 pm. Animal Protection and Education (APE) charity will host the annual Doggie Paddle Saturday, Aug. 30, at 2 pm at the pool.
