AMES – McFarland Clinic PC board of directors recently named Andrew Perry chief executive officer of McFarland Clinic PC. Perry will begin his position with the physician-owned clinic Nov. 3.
“We are delighted to have selected an outstanding candidate as our new chief executive officer,” said Dr Michael Kitchell, McFarland Clinic board president. “Mr. Perry comes to us with a tremendous amount of health care and business management knowledge and experience.”
Perry joins McFarland Clinic with nearly 20 years of service in the health care management field. His most recent appointment was chief executive officer for the Corvallis Clinic PC based in Corvallis, OR, for the past nine years. As leader of one of the largest physician-owned multi-specialty medical groups in Oregon, Perry was responsible for strategic leadership as well as financial, operational and clinical performance for the company’s 100+ care providers, 500 staff, seven facilities, retail and ancillary services. Under his guidance and direction, the organization received significant recognition from state and national entities.
In 2008, Perry served as a governor appointee on the Oregon Health Information Infrastructure advisory committee. He further has been involved in community leadership by serving as chairman of the board of directors of the Corvallis Chamber of Commerce, and vice-chairman of the Corvallis Corporate Roundtable. Currently, he serves on the program planning steering committee for the Group Practice Improvement Network (GPIN).
Prior to his experience at Corvallis Clinic, Perry served as chief operating officer of Welborn Clinic in Evansville, IN, for seven years. As the COO, Perry was accountable for the management of daily clinical operations, human resources, ancillary services, facilities management, professional staff and strategic planning. Perry also worked in healthcare administration at Southern Colorado Clinic in Pueblo, CO as the director of ancillary services.
Perry earned a master of business administration and master of science in health administration from the University of Colorado in 1996. He received a bachelor of arts degree in biology and chemistry from the University of Kansas in 1991. He is a certified medical practice executive through the American College of Medical Practice Executives.
McFarland Clinic board of directors began a nation-wide search in January 2014 upon announcement of Steve Koger’s plans for retirement as the current CEO at the end of 2014.
McFarland Clinic PC was established in 1946 as a physician-owned multi-specialty clinic and today consists of 176 physicians and 47 mid-level health care providers. The clinic operates 12 offices with additional communities served by physician outreach clinics. McFarland Clinic currently has 1003 employees.
