In Greene County district court Kelsi Elizabeth Gross, 24, of Jefferson was granted a deferred judgment after she changed her plea to guilty to a charge of unauthorized use of credit She was placed on probation for two years. She must pay a civil penalty of $625, a Law Enforcement Initiative surcharge of $125, $410.88 victim restitution, $650 restitution for her court appointed attorney’s fees and $121 court costs. Brenda Rice Sutherland, 55, of West Des Moines was granted a deferred judgment after she changed her plea to guilty to a charge of operating while intoxicated (OWI)-first offense. She must pay a civil penalty of $625 and $100 court costs. (Sentencing: Kester)
Persons pleaded not guilty at arraignments as follows: Jarrett Long, 23, of Grand Junction, assault causing bodily injury; Tamra Lynn Maple, 41, of Clinton, theft of services- third degree aiding and abetting; Richard Dean Tuhn Jr, 35, of Grand Junction, domestic abuse assault; Anthony Charles Kennedy, 32, of Jefferson, assault on a peace officer; Jeremy Ernest Andrews, 26, of Jefferson, OWI-second offense and illegal possession of prescription drugs; and Nathan William Merrill, 32, of Jefferson, OWI-third offense and driving while license revoked. Trial dates were set for July 22 in every case.
