And here’s a competition for ultra-builders

Lego 10Area residents are invited to a new world of competition that combines creativity and youthful enthusiasm.

The Yellow Brick Challenge, hosted by Greene Bean Coffee and co-sponsored by GreeneCountyNewsOnline, invites persons of all ages to build original LEGO® block creations based on the Bell Tower Festival theme Iowa’s Emerald County: There’s no place like home.

Every creation must have visible at least one yellow LEGO block and must fit in a space no larger than 24-inches square and 48 inches tall. The rest of the rules are just details. They’re available by clicking on the ad/link on GreeneCountyNewsOnline.

Contest entries can be built at home using your private collection of blocks, or they can be built at a LEGO Build Night at Greene Bean Coffee Friday, June 6, from 5 to 8 pm. (Not to worry…. entries made personally-owned blocks will be returned to their creators!)

The best part? There are prizes! Entries will be judged in three age categories with a fourth “family” category added for more fun.

You’ll find more details under the News tab on GreeneCountyNewsOnline.
