Greene County High School will be represented by 11 students in six different competitions at the national Skills USA contest in Kansas City June 25-26.
A total of 19 students competed May 2 at the Iowa Skills contest at Des Moines Area Community College in Ankeny and the Dallas County Fairgrounds in Adel.
Placing first and earning spots in the national competition were Sean Kenan in sheet metal; Nathan Hoffman in firefighting; Zach Sukovaty in criminal justice; Tray Binkley in carpentry; Cody Hidlebaugh, Isaac Perez and Alec Schneider in welding fabrication; and Andy Anthofer, Cullin Flinn, Brandon Hansen and Jory Joy in Team Works.

Kenan, Sukovaty, Binkley, Hidlebaugh, Anthofer and Flinn are seniors; Hoffman, Perez, Schneider, Hansen and Joy are juniors.
Placing second were sophomore Ben Lint in sheet metal and senior Kyle Bettey in culinary arts. Sophomore Emily Most placed third in commercial baking.
Also competing were senior Kevin Krieger in welding, freshman Taylor Wessling and junior Kayla Youngblood in commercial baking, and junior Logan Egeland and senior Jacob Peterson in culinary arts.
Academic Achievement award winner were Kenan, Hoffman, Perez, Schneider, Lint, Bettey, Youngblood, Egeland, Most, and Wessling.
The advisors for the Greene County students are Dave Destival, Donna Carhill, Dustin Larsen, and Chuck Wenthold.
