“Wierd Science” puppet show whets appetites for summer reading program

Puppets at ele schoolThe Jefferson Kiwanis Club recently sponsored the Jester Puppets and a performance of “Weird Science” for the students at Jefferson-Scranton elementary. The program ties in with the 2014 summer reading program theme of “Fizz, Boom, Read!”, which highlights the wonders of science. The Jester Puppets’ visit marked Children’s Book Week.

In the puppet show, Professor Clockwork traveled back in time with his pal Herbie, a time machine. They met up with Albert Einstein, Thomas Edison, Dr Frankenstein and other scientists. The children enjoyed the comedic antics of Professor Clockwork and his cast of life-size puppets, and they picked up some interesting science facts along the way.

Watch for more information about “Fizz, Boom, Read!”, which begins June 1.
