It’s time for Easter egg hunts

Easter eggsSeveral Easter egg hunts are slated for Saturday, April 19.

The Jefferson park and recreation department and the Jefferson Kiwanis Club will co-sponsor an Easter egg hunt at the Greene County Community Center for children ages 2 through third grade. Registration and pictures with the Easter Bunny (compliments of Hy-Vee Drugstore) will begin at 9:15 am. Line up for the hunt will be at 10 am. Children will be divided by age. Local businesses provide candy and prizes, and every child is guaranteed to receive an egg. (Pre-registration at the Community Center is appreciated but not required.)

Staff at the Churdan public library will host an Easter egg hunt Saturday at 9:30 am at the library for children through fifth grade. No pre-registration is necessary.

Grand Junction area children are invited to an Easter egg hunt hosted by the  Grand Junction fire and rescue  squad Saturday at 1 pm at the city park in Grand Junction. No pre-registration is required.

Also, Animal Protection and Education (APE) will hold its annual Easter egg hunt for canines at Daubendiek Park in Jefferson. Registration begins at 12:30 pm with the hunt at 1 pm. All dogs must be on leashes. There is a charge per leg, with all proceeds benefitting low cost spay and neuter clinics in west central Iowa.
