The American Cancer Society Relay for Life of Greene County typically raises more than $50,000 to assist the ACS as it provides services for cancer patients and their caregivers, educates the public about cancer, and advocates for and funds cancer research.
Business sponsorships contribute to the success of the Relay. “We are so appreciative of all the local sponsors. They step up to the plate and help us out year after year, and we couldn’t do all that we do without them,” said Relay for Life chairperson Peg Raney. “There are many ways for businesses and organizations to participate, whether they’re making a cash or in-kind donation, or providing something for the silent auction, or supporting employees in their fundraising efforts. The Relay for Life is a great example of how all of us working together can do something really amazing.”
Sponsors at the platinum level with donations of $1,250 or more are American Athletic Inc/Spalding and the Jefferson Kiwanis Club.
Gold sponsors with donations of $1,000 or more are Raccoon Valley Radio and Jefferson Telecom. “Jefferson Telecom feels strongly that sponsoring the Greene County Relay for Life event is a way to support those who have fought the battle against cancer. Everyone has been touched at some point in their life by someone who has had cancer and we know that the money raised goes to a great cause for continued research,” said Jamie Daubendiek of Jefferson Telecom.
