Every Sunday in April at the Greene County Community Center
All area residents are invited to start their Sundays in April with Chris Cakes’ pancakes at the Greene County Community Center. The breakfasts, from 8 to 10 am, are hosted by members of Christ Lutheran Church to benefit the Greene County Christian Action Resource Center food pantry.
Free will donations will be accepted, with all proceeds going to the food pantry.
“Christ Lutheran is a small congregation with a big heart and a big ministry,” Pastor Bill Bernau explained. “Several months ago our congregation decided that we wanted to get out of our building and into the community more. The idea of a big pancake feed came up, and one thing led to another. We ended up planning a whole month at the Community Center.”
“We aren’t doing this for ourselves,” he added. “Jesus said ‘Feed the hungry,’ so the food pantry seemed like a great place for the proceeds to be directed.”
