State Representative Chip Baltimore (R- Boone) recently announced that he will seek re-election for Iowa House District 47 in the November election.
Baltimore is currently serving his second term in the House, representing Greene and Boone counties.
An Oskaloosa native, Baltimore earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Iowa State University and a law degree from the University of Minnesota. He joined a private law practice in Boone, and left the practice in 2006 to work as a trust officer and vice president of Boone Bank and Trust in Boone.
He currently serves on the commerce, economic growth and ways and means committees at the Statehouse in Des Moines. He is also the chair of the judiciary committee. He is on the justice systems appropriations subcommittee, medical malpractice study subcommittee, criminal and juvenile justice planning advisory council and the public safety advisory board in the Iowa House.
Baltimore has sponsored 20 bills and 20 amendments since being elected to the Iowa House of Representatives in 2010.
Baltimore’s second term will end January 11, 2015.
