Students of Jefferson-Scranton elementary, Greene County Intermediate School and Greene County Middle School who participated in the Jump Rope and Hoops for Heart in February raised a grand total of $9,458 for the American Heart Association.
Funding from events such as Jump Rope/Hoops For Heart have led to many lifesaving discoveries such as CPR, AEDs, pacemakers, bypass surgeries, open heart surgeries, artificial heart valves, miscosurgery and life-extending drug treatments.
Physical education teacher Lori Danner thanked all who supported the students as they learned about community service while raising funds for a worthy cause. “The students and the surrounding communities did a great job,” Danner said.
