New administrative position
Greene County Medical Center’s chief nurse executive Katie Heldt announced last week that Sandy Atkinson, BSN, RN, has been hired as the director of quality management and patient experience. Atkinson will join the medical center on Feb. 19. She brings with her experience in clinical nursing, performance improvement, case management and patient satisfaction.
As director, Atkinson will work with clinical inpatient departments, outpatient departments and physicians to ensure effective performance and quality outcomes. Additionally, she will manage infection prevention activities and risk and case management. Atkinson will also oversee measures and improvements to assure a positive experience for all patients and their visitors.
Heldt noted, “Sandy’s experience will be very valuable as we continue our pursuit to provide excellent care to patients and enhance the patient experience. She will be an asset to our team.”
Atkinson and her husband live in Panora and have three grown children.
