Greene County resident Denny Lautner (right), whose trivia questions have stumped Greene County Fair-goers, members of the Greene County Historical Society and others for years, was inducted into Van and Bonnie’s Hall of Heroes last Frieday on Van and Bonnie in the Morning. The show was broadcast on WHO-Radio, 1040 AM. The feature highlights “unsung heroes” of central Iowa.
The award is sponsored by the Iowa Hall of Pride. Hall of Pride director Jack Lashier (left), who graduated with Lautner in the Jefferson High School class of 1966, was part of the broadcast. Lashier told of playing baskeball with Lautner. Lashier had more playing time, but he recalled that even on the team, Lautner was an unsung hero, encouraging his teammates from the bench.
