Flash mob at Fareway

The Jefferson Fareway store was the scene of a flash mob last Saturday. Carolers gathered, seemingly spontaneously, in front of the meat counter, treating customers to their rendition of “Joy to the World.” The flash mob was organized by Nicole Friess Schilling and included people from Central Christian Church and friends.

Holiday closings told

City, county and state offices will be on holiday schedules next week. Jefferson city offices will close at noon Christmas Eve and remain closed until Dec. 26. Team spirit includes Christmas giving

The 2013-14 Greene County girls basketball team wanted to continue its spirit of giving. This year the players returned to the long term care floor at Greene County Medical Center. The girls gave each resident a fleece blanket, a Christmas ornament, and treats. Team fundraising proceeds supplemented money put in by each of the girls for the project.
