The Greene County Medical Center auxiliary has decorated the main lobby of the medical center for the holidays with its annual Holiday of Lights display and silent auction. The public is invited to view the wonderful display of holiday trees and wreaths now through Dec. 3. The silent auction will end at 3 pm on the 3rd.
Medical center departments, local organizations, businesses and individuals have decorated more than 40 Christmas trees, holiday wreaths and other holiday items.
Organizers again this year are auxiliary members Lynda Cochran and Deb McGinn.
The Holiday of Lights has proven to be a great community event as well as a fundraiser. “Visiting the medical center lobby is a festive way to get in the holiday spirit. Being able to bid on the trees, wreaths or decorations for one’s home or business is an added bonus” a spokesperson said.
The silent auction raises money for a good cause. All funds raised by the Auxiliary are used for equipment needs of the medical center. Last year $3,547 was raised during Holiday of Lights.
The auxiliary will end its 2013 fundraising efforts on Thursday, Dec. 12, with its annual candy sale. Plates of candies and other holiday goodies are available for sale in the main lobby starting at 7 am, until all items are gone.
