A Celebration of Life for Andy Foster, 83, of Jefferson, was held Feb. 15 at the First United Methodist Church in Jefferson with the Rev Julie Poulsen presiding. Granddaughter Dakota Foster sang “My Heart Will Go On.” Lois Last accompanied congregational singing. A Masonic service led by Curt Eason preceded the service.
Andrew Charles Foster was born Oct. 4, 1936, at the family home in Scranton to Paul William Foster and Nana Belle McFadden Foster. When Andy was 2 years old, his mother died. Paul married Kathryn Clark and she became the mother of the Foster family. Continue reading Andy Foster, 1936 – 2020
Raymond Carl Busch was born July 6, 1942, son of Fritz and Rose (Hoefle) Busch. Ray was the youngest of three children and attended elementary school in Beaver and then attended in Grand Junction, where and was crowned Homecoming King and graduated in 1960.
On December 15, 1962, Ray married Judy Groves of Rippey in Grand Junction at the Presbyterian Church. They lived in Beaver for three years then moved to a farm south of Beaver where they raised four daughters, farmed, and had livestock. Ray and Judy retired from farming in 2010. Rexine Johnson, the daughter of Guy and Ida (Stream) Kinsman, was born August 26, 1922 at her parent’s farm home near Churdan, Iowa and departed this life January 30, 2020 at the Greene County Medical Center in Jefferson, Iowa. She lived a full life to the age of 97 years, 5 months and 4 days.
Rexine attended and graduated from the Churdan High School in 1940 and later attended Iowa Teachers College in Cedar Falls where she received a teacher’s certificate. Patricia Monagin, 85, of Jefferson, died January 30, 2020, at Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines surrounded by her daughters Carole Monagin-Rustan and Kelly Walker, her son Mike Monagin, and many family members.

Sue graduated from Jefferson Community School in the spring of 1966. On April 15th of 1967, Gary and Sue were united in marriage at Trinity Lutheran Church in Jefferson. To this union was born two children, Kari and Scott. Over the years, Sue worked at Blaess Shoe Store, Dick and Jim’s Hardware, Franklin Manufacturing, and American Athletic Inc. Elizabeth Beck, 91, of Churdan, died January 1, 2020 at the Greene County Medical Center, Jefferson, with her family by her side. The family hosted a memorial visitation for relatives and friends on Jan. 6, at the First Baptist Church in Churdan. Elizabeth Beck was laid to rest beside her husband at the Iowa Veteran’s Cemetery, Adel.
