Farm Bureau launches Real campaign

Iowa Farm Bureau will launch a special ‘Real Farmers. Real Food. Real Meat’ campaign in partnership with Fareway Food Stores. Locally, the launch will take place during a special barbeque at the Jefferson Fareway store on Friday, Aug. 30, from 4 to 7 pm.

Fareway employees will be grilling and Greene County Farm Bureau members will be on hand to serve and visit with customers about the campaign and how meat is raised. For $3 members of the public can enjoy a pork or beef burger, chips, and drink. Everyone is welcome at the barbeque and all proceeds will be donated to the Greene County Christian Action Resource Center.

This Real Farmers. Real Food. Real Meat. campaign is part of Iowa Farm Bureau’s on-going efforts to help celebrate and elevate the value of animal protein while building trust and understanding of today’s farming practices.

As part of the Real Farmers. Real Food. Real Meat. campaign, IFBF will launch five semi-trailer wraps on Fareway trucks featuring different Farm Bureau family members from Greene, Calhoun, Wapello, Union, and Dallas counties.

The livestock family featured from Greene county is Randy, Jen, Madisen, and Wyatt Christensen of Scranton. These families were also featured on Real Farmers. Real Food. Real Meat signage in Farm Bureau Park at the Iowa State Fair, along with special promotions focusing on the nutritional benefits of animal protein, sustainability, and animal care.

IFBF will also launch a “Fill Your Freezer” contest at all 107 Fareway stores in Iowa beginning Aug. 30 and running through Sept. 30. Customers will be able to enter for a chance to win an ultimate meat package, courtesy of IFBF, by playing an educational game on the IFBF website. Fareway will also promote the contest in-store. There will be one official winner from each Fareway store in Iowa.
