Greene County district court, week ending Jan. 18

In Greene County district court Robert Christopher Jean Thoma Jr, 20, of Jefferson was sentenced Jan. 14 to one year in jail after he changed his plea to guilty to a charge of possession of methamphetamine- second offense. Al but seven days of the jail time was suspended and he was placed on informal probation for one year. Thoma must pay sheriff’s room and board fees for the time he serves. He must also undergo a substance abuse evaluation and complete any recommended treatment at his own expense. He was fined $625 with a $218.75 surcharge; both were suspended. He must pay a $125 Law Enforcement Initiative surcharge. A charge of possession of marijuana- third offense was dismissed. Count costs were $100. (Sentencing: Honorable Joseph B. McCarville)

Michael Allen Eberle, 68, of Dana was sentenced to five years in prison after he changed his plea to guilty to a charge of felon in possession of a firearm. The prison sentence was suspended and he was placed on probation for two years. He was fined $750 with a $262.50 surcharge; both were suspended. The judge determined him to be unable to pay restitution for his court appointed attorney’s fees. Court costs were $220. (Sentencing: McCarville)

Crystal Ann Jordan, 33,of Scranton was sentenced to 30 days in jai after she pleaded guilty to a charge of assault causing bodily injury, amended from child endangerment causing injury. All but two days of the jail time was suspended and she was placed on informal probation for one year. She must pay sheriff’s room and board fees for the time she serves. Jordan was fined $315 with a $110.25 surcharge. The judge ruled she is unable to pay restitution for her court appointed attorney’s fees. Court costs were $100. (Sentencing: McCarville)

Jarad Ryan Wolfe, 40, of Bagley was fined $315 with a $110.25 surcharge on a charge of public intoxication- second offense. He must also pay $200 restitution for his court appointed attorney’s fees and $100 court costs. A charge in magistrate court of disorderly conduct was dismissed. (Sentencing: McCarville)

Persons pleaded not guilty at arraignment as follows: Joby Lee Hoskinson, 35, of Grand Junction, domestic abuse assault causing injury or mental illness; John Joseph Minnehan, 63, of Churdan, possession of a firearm as a felon; Randy Isaiah Johnson, 25, of Carroll, possession of marijuana- second offense; Richard Lee Norton Jr, 39, of Panora, operating while intoxicated- third offense; and Christopher Adelbert Laurent, 49, of Grand Junction, theft- second degree. Trial dates were set for March 5 in every case.

Information is available since the return of an arrest warrant that Adam Michael Winger, 38, of Jefferson has been charged with possession of a controlled substance- third or subsequent offense.

Information is available since the return of an arrest warrant that Christopher Brian Quirk, 36, of Jefferson has been charged with burglary- third degree- motor vehicle and forgery (three counts).

Cases were initiated as follows: Cayleb Anthony Walker, 25, of Coon Rapids, assault causing bodily injury or mental illness; and Shane Joe Spaulding, 39, of Bayard, burglary-third degree, theft- second degree, forgery (11 counts), and ongoing criminal conduct.
