Cattlemen’s banquet slated for Feb. 24; public welcome

The annual Greene County Cattlemen’s banquet and auction will be held Saturday, Feb. 24, at the Greene County Fairground’s Clover Hall. Social hour begins at 6 pm with a prime rib dinner at 6:30 pm.

Following the meal, the trophy auction will be held along with the awarding of numerous door prizes.

Money raised at the annual banquet and trophy auction will go toward the many projects supported by the Greene County Cattlemen throughout the year. They continue to support a number of 4-H and youth activities, Heart Smart promotions and other extensive beef promotions at the county, state and national levels. A scholarship program has been expanded in recent years, and in 2017 the Cattlemen awarded more than $9,000 in college scholarship.

Tickets for the annual banquet and trophy auction can be purchased at the Greene County Extension Office or from any of the following directors: Mike Holden, Steve Kennedy, Doug Lawton, Dave Tipton, Tom Lawton, Justin Robbins, Mike Ostendorf, Roger Rowles,  Tanner Lawton, Brandon Muir, Ben Gannon, Derek Kennedy or Tom Heun.

Tickets will also be available that evening at the door. The public is welcome to attend.
