Farm Bureau scholarship apps available

Greene County Farm Bureau announced last week it has established a scholarship fund for scholarships to be awarded in 2018 to graduating seniors who are entering a two or four-year school with a major related to agriculture.

High school seniors of Greene County Farm Bureau members who plan to pursue a degree in one of the following occupational areas of agriculture and/or agribusiness: ag production, ag products & processing, ag business, agricultural research, conservation and natural resources, economics, education, environmental systems, forestry, horticulture, mechanization, and nursing. Students are encouraged to contact their guidance counselor for the scholarship application.

Applications are also available at the Farm Bureau office or under the Members Only section of iowafarmbureau.com, select My Membership, Member Benefits, and then Scholarships.

By filling out the application, seniors can apply for both the Iowa Farm Bureau Federation $1,000 scholarships and the Greene County Farm Bureau $750 scholarships.

Completed applications, letters of recommendation, and transcripts need to be returned to the Farm Bureau office by Thursday, March 1.

Upon receipt of the proper forms, the scholarship committee will meet to decide the recipients.
