Iowa Gov Kim Reynolds delivered her first Condition of the State address the morning of Jan. 9 at the Iowa State capitol.
In her address, she announced a new initiative to promote investment and connect rural Iowa by expanding broadband capabilities. She announced a new partnership with Des Moines University and the National Alliance on Mental Illness to ensure that every new doctor trained at DMU will have skills to identify and treat a patient with a mental health challenge. She also said she will add $500,000 in her proposed budget to expand work-based learning, and $1 million to expand apprenticeships.
