Tucker acquitted in juvenile court

A disposition has been entered in Greene County juvenile court in the case of Trey Darwin Tucker, 17, of Jefferson, charged with a delinquency.

The matter was tried in a closed hearing June 28 in front of the honorable William Ostlund. Ostlund ruled that the State had not met the burden of proof for a finding of guilty and a judgment of acquittal was entered.

Tucker was originally charged with sex abuse- third degree, a Class D felony, in district court last August. An attorney from the Iowa Attorney General’s office was designated to provide assistance in prosecuting the case.

The case was transferred to juvenile court following a motion by Tucker’s attorney. The motion was granted and the Iowa AG rescinded its offer of assistance. The case was prosecuted by Greene County attorney Nicola Martino.
