Greene County district court, week ending Nov. 13

In Greene County district court Desmond Antoine Bell, 38, of Grand Junction was sentenced Nov. 13 after changing his plea to guilty to charges of domestic abuse assault and child endangerment. On the domestic abuse charge he was sentenced to two years in prison; all but 60 days were suspended and he was placed on probation for two years. He was fined $625 with a $218.75 surcharge. The fine and surcharge were suspended. He must complete a batterers education program at his own expense.

On the child endangerment charge he was sentenced to two years in prison, with all but 60 days suspended with the terms concurrent. He was placed on probation for two years on that charge. He was fined $625 with a $218.75 surcharge, both suspended. The court also ruled that he is unable to pay $240 restitution for he court appointed attorney’s fees. Rowdy Lee Renwanz , 20, of Gowrie was sentenced after he pleaded guilty to a charge of possession of marijuana-first offense. He was sentenced to two days in jail. The jail time was suspended and he was placed on informal probation for one year. He must undergo a substance abuse evaluation and complete any recommended treatment at his own expense. His driver’s license was revoked for 180 days. He was fined $315 with a $110.25 surcharge, a $10 surcharge for drug abuse resistance education (DARE) and a $125 Law Enforcement Initiative surcharge. The court determined he was unable to pay restitution for his court appointed attorney’s fees and waived the $120 charge. Court costs were $155.77. A companion case in magistrate court in which Renwanz was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia was dismissed. (Sentencing: Kester)

James Marshall Blackmon, 39, of Jefferson was fined $65 with a $22.75 surcharge after he pleaded guilty to a charge of theft-fifth degree, amended from theft-third degree. Court costs were $60.

Persons pleaded not guilty at arraignments as follows: Alysha Nicole DeHoet, 37, of Jefferson, possession of methamphetamine; Robert Anthony Staiert, 40, of Carroll, operating while intoxicated (OWI)-third offense; Lance Michael Ross, 18, of Grand Junction, criminal mischief-fourth degree; Karah Jean Brown, 18, of Jefferson, unauthorized use of credit card under $1,000; Ann C. Lehnhoff, 39, of Grand Junction, introduce intoxicants or drugs into jail, possess contraband in correctional institution; and Jay Dean Springer, 59, of Jefferson, OWI-first offense. Trial dates were set for Jan. 26 in every case.

Cases were initiated in district court as follows: Dustin Michael McGuire, 30, of Manson, possession of marijuana and public intoxication-second offense; and Tyler Cordel Kirby, 34, of Des Moines, possession of methamphetamine- third or subsequent offense.
