Letter to the editor – Marty Brenden

Dear Editor,

I am writing in response to the editorial posted by Colleen O’Brien. I am a former resident of Greene County, and wanted to tell you what I “know about Planned Parenthood.”

Planned Parenthood is the largest abortion provider in the United States and the organization has been linked to many controversial activities including covering up statutory rape, child sex trafficking, and the selling of ‘aborted fetal tissue’ a.k.a human beings for ‘parts.’

The reprehensible act of killing a child in the womb is made even worse by selling portions of that child’s dismembered body simply because there is a market for them.

As Catholics Christians, we believe that every life has value, that it has worth, that it matters….from the moment of conception until natural death occurs. We believe that what Planned Parenthood Federation of America’s senior director of medical services Dr Deborah Nucatola calls “17 weekers’ are actually children—with beating hearts and little moving fingers and toes.

Saint John Paul II often spoke of the ‘culture of death,’ and unfortunately we are living in it.

The Pregnancy Resource Center here in Rolla is a shining example of a local organization providing positive support for families expecting children.

I believe it is time to put an end to the $538.4 million dollars Planned Parenthood receives in public funding. It is time to stop supporting organizations which are killing our citizens.

This letter is in fair response to an article which appeared to be an attempt to justify a cause NOT supporting life.

Martin E. Brenden, Rolla, MO
