Plans are underway and more than 160 exhibitors have already registered for the 2015 edition of Hot August Night, scheduled for Thursday, Aug. 13, from 5 to 8 pm around the courthouse square in Jefferson.

Committee members, Greene County Chamber staff and volunteers invite people of all ages to spend the evening admiring all types of cars, trucks, motorcycles and antique tractors parked around the square and on adjoining streets.

Last year’s event drew 356 vehicles, and organizers are planning for more this year.

A $200 cash prize will be awarded to the visiting car club that brings and registers the most vehicles. Exhibitors can find registration information at www.jeffersoniacarshows.info. The first 300 to register will receive a free T-shirt.

Exhibitors will select an Exhibitor’s Choice Award and a Spirit Award will be given to the vehicle that best captures the “spirit” of the annual cruise night in remembrance of car enthusiast Walter E. Hausdorfer.

A grilled picnic supper will be served by the Jefferson Kiwanis Club, the Chamber, and volunteers.

Persons who would like to volunteer to help the Hot August Night can call the Chamber office at 515-386-2155.
