Temperatures ranged from a high of 89 degrees during the day Saturday (temperatures shown reflect the period ending at 6 am the day listed) to an overnight low of 49 degrees during the week ending Sept. 11. According to volunteer weather observer John Beltz, Jefferson received 2.45 inches of rain during the Sunday night storm.

Young Iowans geared up for the Mutton Bustin’ competition Friday, Aug. 21, at the 2015 Iowa State Fair.
