Grundon third place in district VFW essay contest

Andrea Grundon, a seventh grader at Greene County Middle School, has been recognized as having written the third place essay in the district VFW essay contest. Andrea’s essay was selected as the local chapter winner back in November. Her essay advanced to the district level competition, where she earned third place. Weather data, week ending Feb. 12

Jefferson received 2.1 inches of snow during the week ending Feb. 12 at 6 am, bringing the February total to 8.6 inches. Snow fell five days during the week. Volunteer weather observer John Beltz reports the snow equates to a total of .99 inch of precipitation this month. High temperature was 39 degrees and the low temperature was four degrees.
