High school students practice building trades

While some Greene County High School students are building a house their classmates are also building, but with much different materials. Students in their advisory groups practiced collaboration in building with edible materials during the week prior to their Christmas break. The creations were on display in the school media center. Ready, set, skate!

Jefferson city crews took advantage of cold weather last week to prepare the ice rink at Chautauqua Park. As of Friday, the ice was smooth and the lights were ready for evening skating. There is no charge for skating. The ice rink was donated several years ago by Jefferson Telecom.

The Greene County FFA chapter held its second annual Jacket Award Ceremony and ended its fruit sales fundraiser. On December 9, the ceremony included the FFA officer testimonies, advisor Katie Akers’ remarks, and the Greene County Cattlemen’s Association representative Pat Fields (pictured, left).
