Greene County Medical Center Foundation suggests ‘Give Smarter’

Charitable giving is about more than writing a check. The recent Smart Charitable Giving Seminar at Greene County Medical Center explored strategies for gifts you are already planning to make while potentially allowing you to keep more of  your own money.

Max Nees, CFP®, of Journey Financial and Ross Martens, CPA of Martens & Associates shared tips for practical planning involving qualified charitable distributions, appreciated securities, charitable gifts of commodities, and donor-advised funds.

The presentation included real-world examples of how retirees, investors and ag producers may approach charitable  giving differently, including ways to take advantage of years when income is unusually high. The goal is simple: give more and keep more.

The full presentation is now available online through the Greene County Medical Center Foundation at  gcmchealth.com/foundation/smart-charitable-giving or by scanning the QR code (right).
