Alma Danza, a dance troupe from Mexico’s Yucatan Peninsula, will join the Greene County High School marching band for halftime entertainment during the homecoming football game Friday, Sept. 25, at Linduska Field in Jefferson.
Alma Danza will also perform Friday at 5:30 pm at the Greene County Community Center. There is no charge to attend.
Iowa-Yucatan Partners is a long-standing citizen diplomacy organization that links Iowa with the Yucatan region. It was founded in September, 1965, by Iowa civic and business leaders alongside then-Governor Harold Hughes, under the broader umbrella of the Partners of the Americas initiative. Its mission is to bring people together to learn, grow, and support one another, enhancing education, health, and sustainability in both Iowa and Yucatan.
The Multicultural Family Resource Center and Greene County Community Schools are hosting Alma Danza in Jefferson.
