A driver was killed in a two- car collision on Hwy 30 at 210th St diagonal near the Greene/Carroll County line Saturday. The accident occurred at 12:55 pm.
According to information from the Iowa State Patrol, Marcia Lucile Bachmann, 75, of Denison was eastbound on Hwy 30 driving a 2018 Toyota Prius. Frizabel Anwiu Waki, 27, of Lincoln, NE, was westbound on 210th St driving a 2019 Ford Escape. She pulled out from the stop sign at the intersection, into Bachmann’s path.
Bachmann was pronounced dead at the scene. Waki and a passenger in her vehicle, Mbachokleng Claudine Ngum of West Des Moines, were both transported by a Des Moines hospital with serious injuries. The Greene and Carroll County sheriff’s office, Life Flight, and Greene and Carroll County EMS responded to the scene.
