Greene and surrounding counties are in a blizzard warning issued by the National Weather Service.

Showers and thunderstorms will fall across much of Iowa Sunday morning, then transition to snow from northwest to southeast by the afternoon.

Strong winds will develop Sunday, leading to blizzard conditions, with blowing snow and reduced visibility. Widespread gusts of 55-65+ mph are possible. Significant visibility reduction and dangerous travel are expected due to the strong winds, even in areas with lower snow amounts. Travel may be impossible at times.
