Following are excerpts of activities reported by the Greene County sheriff’s office:

Tuesday, March 31: At 3:11 am a deputy investigated a suspicious person in the 500 block of S. Wise St in Paton. At 6:56 am a deputy returned to the same location to investigate suspicious activity. At 10:13 am a deputy investigated a complaint of animal neglect in Churdan. At 11:46 am Elijah Fineran, 23, of Denison was booked into the jail for failure to appear*. At 1:57 pm a deputy investigated a complaint of criminal mischief in Scranton. Julie Simms, 59, of Scranton was arrested on a charge of disorderly conduct*. She was later booked into the jail.
Monday, March 30: At 6:33 am a deputy and Churdan Fire responded to a semi-trailer on fire in the 800 block of Fitzpatrick St in Churdan. The feed trailer was a total loss. The driver was able to unhook from the trailer. At 6:28 pm Mary Risselman, 68, of Carroll was booked in to the jail on a charge of trespass*. At 8:29 pm a deputy investigated suspicious activity in the 500 block of E. Main St in Grand Junction. Shilow Ashby, 55, of Grand Junction was arrested for disorderly conduct and public intoxication*. Brittiany Ashby, 34, of Grand Junction was arrested for disorderly conduct, possession of a controlled substance, and possession of drug paraphernalia*. They were both later booked into the jail.
Sunday, March 29: At 11:51 am a deputy investigated a complaint of burning in Scranton.
Saturday, March 28: At 3:49 pm an officer investigated a complaint of harassment in Grand Junction.
Friday, March 27: At 10:09 pm a deputy investigated a complaint of harassment in Grand Junction. A juvenile was taken into custody for possession of alcohol under legal age, public intoxication, and harassment- third degree*.
Thursday, March 26: At 9:22 am the sheriff investigated an assault in the 800 block of Percival St in Grand Junction. At 9:23 am Braeden Turner, 18, of Jefferson was booked into the jail on charges of possession of media to exploit a minor and sexual exploitation of a minor*. At 10:12 am the sheriff and Grand Junction fire and rescue responded to a single-vehicle accident on 280th St east of T Ave in Washington Township. Preston Johns of Scranton was eastbound on 280th St operating a 2024 Ford F-250. He lost control of the vehicle and entered the south ditch, striking a utility pole. There were no injuries. Damage to the pickup truck was estimated at $10,000. Damage to the utility pole was estimated at $1,500. At 11:56 am Jerry Webb, 40, of Missouri was booked in to the jail on charges of possession of a controlled substance and possession of a short-barreled rifle or shotgun*. At 1:29 pm the sheriff, Jefferson fire department, and Churdan fire department responded to a grass fire on 210th Street and Hillcrest Ave in Bristol Township. The fire was re-ignited from a controlled burn the previous day.
Wednesday, March 25: At 9:54 am the sheriff and the Jefferson fire department responded to a grass and camper fire. The camper was a total loss. The fire was intentionally set but got out of control. At 3:25 pm Brooklyn Renshaw, 20, of Bayard was booked into the jail on a charge of operating while intoxicated*.
Tuesday, March 24: At 6:07 am a deputy investigated a car-deer accident on Hwy 30 near H Ave east of Scranton. Connor Gibson of Ogden struck a deer with a 2021 Chevrolet Malibu. Damage to the vehicle was estimated at $5,000. At 9:34 am a deputy arrested Richard Keller of Grand Junction on an arrest warrant for failure to appear*. At 1:02 pm Shawn Jones, 42, homeless, was booked in to the jail on charges of forgery, identity theft, and theft- fourth degree*. At 4:16 pm Dakota Sheer. 34. of Rippey was booked into the jail on charges of false report against public safety and false report for a indictable offense*.
Monday, March 23: At 2:44 pm a deputy issued a salvage tag for a deer on M Ave near 260th St in Greenbrier Township. At 4:37 pm a deputy investigated a dog bite in Grand Junction. At 7:54 pm a deputy investigated a driving complaint in the 600 block of Brentwood Ave in Cedar Township. Kenneth Bonnette, 38, of Scranton was arrested for driving while license suspended and for an arrest warrant for violation of a no contact order*.
Sunday, March 22: At 12:09 pm a deputy investigated a complaint of a dog running at large in Scranton.
Saturday, March 21: At 9:13 am a deputy investigated a complaint of harassment complaint in Scranton. At 9:44 am a deputy returned to the same location in Scranton on a complaint of harassment. At 12:49 pm a deputy investigated a violation of a no contact order in Scranton. At 8:05 pm a deputy investigated a car-deer accident in the 1200 block of 245th St south of Jefferson. Emma Halterman of Jefferson struck a deer with a 2011 Honda Accord. Damage to the vehicle was estimated at $3,000.
Friday, March 20: At 2:15 am Mark Morrow, 65, of Grand Junction was booked into the jail on a charge of driving while license barred*. At 10:15 am a deputy investigated suspicious activity on 170th Street near N Ave in Bristol Township. At 7:26 pm Scott Slinger, 53, of Bayard was booked into the jail on a charge of operating while intoxicated*. At 8:23 pm a deputy investigated a complaint of harassment in Grand Junction, leading to the arrest of Seth Blumberg, 27, of Churdan on a charge of assault*. At 9:45 pm a deputy removed a deer from the roadway on Hwy 30 near Orchard Ave east of Jefferson.

Wednesday, March 18: At 5:23 pm a deputy investigated a complaint of harassment in the 500 block of N. 16th St in Grand Junction. At 5:42 pm a deputy investigated a backing accident in the 500 block of N. 16th St in Grand Junction. Jessica Higgins of Grand Junction backed a 1994 Chevrolet K1500 into parked 2023 Cadillac XT6, causing an estimated $2,000 damage to the vehicle. There was no damage to Higgins’ vehicle. At 5:46 pm a deputy investigated a theft in the 100 block of N. 16th St in Grand Junction.

Monday, March 16: At 1:09 pm Gene Hildreth, 20, of Des Moines was booked into the jail on a charge of possession of a controlled substance*.
Sunday, March 15: Deputies assisted four motorists stuck in snow in the northern portion of the county.
Saturday, March 14: At 2:25 am a deputy investigated a complaint of trespass near 230th St and Jordan Ave in Jackson Township. At 12:43 pm a deputy investigated a theft in the 900 block of Hills Ave in Churdan. At 3:08 pm a deputy investigated a complaint of harassment in Rippey.
Friday, March 13: At 1:37 am a deputy removed a deer from the roadway on I Ave near 240th St in Jackson Township. At 4:24 am a deputy assisted with removing a tree from the roadway on S. 12th and Bennet Sts in Grand Junction. At 8:52 am a deputy, Paton Fire, Jefferson Fire, Churdan Fire, Gowrie Fire, and Greene County Ambulance responded to a structure fire at 1676 110th St in Dawson Township. A vehicle and garage were a total loss. The house had severe damage to it. There were no injuries. At 3:53 pm Kayla Lundgren, 36, of Minnesota was booked into the jail on charges of forgery and theft- 4th degree*. At 4:58 pm deputies assisted the Shelby County sheriff’s office with a search warrant in the 600 block of N. 18th St in Grand Junction. Jacob Stouwie of Grand Junction was arrested for exhibition of obscene materials to minors- three counts*.
Thursday, March 12: At 5:25 pm a deputy and Greene County Ambulance responded to a single-vehicle accident on Orchard Ave near 210th St in Hardin Township. A juvenile lost control of a 2000 Chevrolet Silverado and went into the east ditch. No one was transported from the scene. Damage to the vehicle was estimated at $6,000. At 6:55 pm a deputy investigated found property in the 900 block of Locust St in Scranton.
Wednesday, March 11: At 7:52 am a deputy and Greene County Ambulance responded to a single-vehicle accident on Hwy 30 and B Ave east of the Greene-Carroll County line. Francis Bernardez of Texas was driving a 2023 Freightliner and lost control on the snow-covered road, entering the west ditch. The estimated damage to the semi is $9,000. There were no injuries in the accident.
Tuesday, March 10: At 3:20 pm Alicia Ofelt, 38, of Van Meter was booked into the jail on charges of violation of probation, possession of a controlled substance, possession of marijuana, and possession of drug paraphernalia*.
Monday, March 9: At 6:38 am the sheriff investigated a complaint of harassment near Redwood Ave and S Ave in Grant Township. At 9:38 am a deputy investigated a burglary in the 600 block of State St in Scranton. At 2:26 pm the sheriff investigated a theft in the 100 block of Sunset Dr in Grand Junction. At 5:18 pm a deputy investigated an animal complaint in the 2200 block of M Ave in Greenbrier Township.
Sunday, March 8: At 7:11 am a deputy issued a salvage tag on 240th St near J Ave east of Jefferson.
Saturday, March 7: At 8:59 am a deputy removed a deer from the roadway on 230th Street near E Ave in Scranton. At 2:39 pm a deputy investigated an assault in Rippey. At 4:32 pm Steven Jensen, 29, of Rippey was booked into the jail on a charge of domestic abuse assault impede air or blood flow*. At 5:56 pm a deputy investigated a complaint of animal neglect in Washington Township. At 9:50 pm a deputy investigated a theft in the 1600 block of N Ave south of Jefferson. At 10:10 pm a deputy investigated a complaint of harassment in Grand Junction.
Friday, March 6: At 4 pm Kenny Cather, 62, of Jefferson was booked into the jail on a charge of operating while intoxicated- second offense*. At 9:32 pm a deputy investigated a theft in the 300 block of N. 18th St in Grand Junction.
Thursday, March 5: At 4:21 pm a deputy arrested Brian Newton, 37, of Grand Junction on charges of violation of probation and interference with official acts*. He was later booked into the jail.
Wednesday, March 4: At 11:06 am a deputy investigated a complaint of harassment in the 500 block of Madison St in Scranton. At 11:55 am a deputy investigated an animal neglect complaint in the 2400 block of U Ave in Washington Township. At 1:04 pm Kyle Habrich, 37, of Boone was booked into jail for a probation violation*. At 1:48 pm Ryan Schulte, 35, of Jefferson was booked into the jail on charges of theft- third degree, identity theft, and forgery*. At 3:23 pm a deputy investigated an animal complaint in the 1000 block of E. Main St in Grand Junction. At 4:05 pm Edward Goff, 47, of Ankeny was booked into the jail for contempt of court*.
Tuesday, March 3: At 2:39 pm the sheriff investigated a theft in the 700 block of School St in Churdan.
Monday, March 2: At 10:07 am a deputy investigated a theft in the 2300 block of Sherwood Ave in Franklin Township.
