To the editor,
THANK YOU to all who attended the ribbon cutting for The Children’s Center playground last week! There has been so much support for this project for the benefit of our youngest citizens!
Now that this project is completed, it is time to once again thank all who have had a hand in its success! It wouldn’t have been possible to make this dream happen without collaboration and the dedicated efforts of so many!
A special thank you to the Greene County Community School District for making the property available to the non-profit Greene County Early Learning Center (now The Children’s Center), making it a site on which the Center and playgrounds could be built.
So many wonderful people have served as board members and volunteers, sharing this nearly 20-year dream of the Center owning a building and playgrounds all its own! They’ve worked so very hard to help the center develop, grow, flourish and reach this goal!
To our directors, Cherie Cerveny (2005-2024) and Amy McGinn (since 2024), we couldn’t be more grateful for your steadfast leadership, knowledgeable management and sincere care for all of these “littles” to Legends at the Center!
The building/fundraising/construction team who devoted years to planning for the building project deserves immense credit! They contacted hundreds of people to share the story of the project, raised needed funds for its construction and managed/completed the structure and playgrounds. Truly, they made it happen! Thank you!!
To the many, many individuals, families, businesses, entities who donated to the project, provided needed grant funds and support, YOU ARE THE HEROES! Without your belief in the importance of childcare to our youngest citizens, this dream would not have been possible!! THANK YOU!
At this time of gratitude, we extend sincere thanks to all who care about early childhood development! We hope you smile when you see children outside, learning through play…they are the future of our community and we want them well cared for!! Truly, GROWTH HAPPENS HERE!
Thank you,
Jacque Andrew Past board member/co-president
