With the uncertainty of Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) benefits during the federal government shutdown, many local families are turning to the Greene County Christian Action Resource Center (ARC) for support. To help meet the growing need, Jefferson Telecom is inviting local businesses to join a Holiday Match Challenge to keep the food pantry stocked through the holidays.
Jefferson Telecom, a long-time supporter of the ARC, contributed $2,500 earlier this summer to help ensure the pantry remains stocked. This holiday season, Jefferson Telecom again will be donating by inviting other businesses to join in supporting this important community resource. Jefferson Telecom will match each business donation on a dollar-for-dollar basis, up to $500 per business, with a total matching contribution not to exceed $2,500.

“The ARC provides essential support to Greene County families, and we know the holidays can be especially challenging,” said Jamie Daubendiek, general manager at Jefferson Telecom. “We hope this match inspires other local businesses to give so that together we can make a meaningful difference.”
Community members and businesses can make monetary donations directly to: Greene County Christian Action Resource Center, 1006 N. Vine St., Jefferson, IA 50129.

Those dropping off donations are asked to call ahead at 515-386-8262 (leave a message) to arrange a time, typically Tuesday or Wednesday mornings.
In addition to financial gifts, the ARC welcomes donations of basic food staples such as chili beans, pork and beans, canned soups, canned fruit, toilet paper, men’s and women’s toiletries, toothpaste, and shampoo, as well as gently used winter clothing and coats.
