Fourth grade farm tour celebrates ag education

The Greene County Farm Bureau hosted its annual 4th gradefarm tour this Tuesday, Sept. 9, continuing a beloved tradition of hands-on agricultural education for local students. Held at the Juergensen family farm near Churdan, the event welcomed over 110 fourth grade students from across the county.

Students rotated through 10 interactive learning stations, each designed to showcase a different aspect of farm life and Iowa agriculture. Topics ranged from livestock care, crop production, conservation practices, farm equipment, and nutrition. The tour emphasized the importance of agriculture in daily life and highlighted the role of farmers as stewards of the land.

The tour was made possible through the collaboration of local farmers, volunteers, and educators, with special thanks to Connor and Lindsay Juergensen, who generously hosted the event. Greene County Cattlemen provided lunch for all students and faculty, and Farm Credit of Carroll provided a generous donation to help make the day a huge success. The Greene County Farm Bureau remains committed to fostering agricultural literacy and community connections through events like the 4th grade farm tour.
