The Greene County Historical Society invites the public to a thought-provoking morning of Coffee & Conversation on Saturday, Aug. 2, at 10 am, featuring county attorney Thomas Laehn as he explores “The History of Eminent Domain.”
Laehn will deliver a short presentation on the complex history of eminent domain—the government’s power to take private property for public use—and how it has shaped communities throughout American history. “Gather with friends and neighbors for coffee, refreshments, and an engaging discussion,” a spokesperson said.
Following Laehn’s presentation, there will be time for questions and conversation, giving attendees a chance to dig deeper into the topic and share their own thoughts and experiences. This event is free and open to the public.
The Greene County Historical Society is located at 219 E. Lincolnway in Jefferson.
