They’re making me crazy right now, the Democrats. They’re hiding or sleeping or voting against impeaching the President.
I would like just one of the famous ones – Obama, Hillary, Biden, Schumer — to take the reins with a whip and lead us in the charge against Project 25, Maga, Donald Trump, the Republicans.
But maybe they know better than us that old people like them cannot lead US right now; we need fresh brains; the famous can remain invisible. It is the young ones, the new ones – Alexandria Ortega Cortez, Jasmine Crocket, newest young pol in New York City Zohran Mamdanl — that are out there shouting, listening, walking the streets or lambasting dim-witted, appointed-by-Trump and power hungry Cabinet members. They are gathering people to understand that the Rs are going to rid us of healthcare, child nutrition; clean air, energy and water; safe bridges, airplanes, airports, food; accountable police, judges, lawyers, representatives; affordable housing; honest history in an equal public educational system; farmers, Blacks and Browns, women who can be informed to quit voting for Rs; do they not understand that the Rs play them, don’t like them.
A tax break for the wealthy is what the One Big Beautiful Bill (a truly childish name from a greedy childish brain) means. Others call it, truthfully, the Big Billionaire Bill, for that is who will profit from it. And I mean profit. The Bill is all about a brilliantly planned Constitution being ripped asunder and pushed quickly down the drain faster and faster since the beginning trickle of 250-year-old torn-up ideas that started on January 20.
Medicaid, along with food stamps, will lose $900 billion and grind to a halt. The BBB will send the country into increased debt to the tune of $3.3 billion added to the current debt of $37 billion. The poor and the middle class will be deprived of social justice – healthcare, food distribution to the poor, good schools, affordable anything including food, housing, energy and transportation in order to pay the people who definitely need another Leer jet.
How much money is it you need, rich folks? Tell us. And while you’re at it, can you explain to us how you grew up to be so greedy?
The point of Project 25, a long-in-the-making manifesto built by the Republicans in secret to be unveiled during the Presidential competition of 2024, is a thousand pages explaining how to stop Democracy and the Republic in its tracks. This is systematically being carried out and involves dismantling agencies and gutting all social contracts which keep the poor at least fed and housed, if not gaining on the American Dream.
I’ve read that about 40 percent of the U.S. population has no idea what’s going on in Congress and has no interest in paying attention to it. I’ve also read that 79 percent see our country under threat from Trump, from Democrats, from MAGA – such a wide stretch of opinions across the board that it’s easy to think we’re all brain dead and falling through the cracks except the 2500 billionaires and their many hangers-on millionaires in America right now.
Although the Republican-led Senate lied its pants off to get this mega-BBB (BigBillionaireBill ) tax gift for the wealthy/tax grift against the rest of us to the President’s Fourth of July deadline – another hijacking of a celebratory day in our country to make it a private hallelujah for the overbearing, loud & fast-talking, misuser-of-his-own-language, pretend-King Trump – there was a definite Democratic roadblock at work in the form of new amendments nearly every minute in the Senate to halt the bill that will enfeeble the United States of America for decades to come; plus the reading of the entire bill, which itself is close to a thousand pages; many Senators had not read it, so the Dems read it to them. It may be too late and too little, but at least they did something, as the BBB is shipped back to the House for approval today, July 2, 2025
70 million will lose their health coverage with Medicare/ACA/Obamacare/Medicaid because more money is needed for ICE to kidnap Brown people and send them somewhere within and outside of this country. As in every year, more money is needed for the Pentagon for weapons; the tax cuts extended to the rich from the initial 2017 tax cuts they were rewarded by Trump will be set in stone for those living with more everything than most of us can even imagine.
It’s frightening, demoralizing and downright mean. Why would a U.S. Senator want to vote for a bill that is going to hurt his district? It must be worth a lot of bribery money to ensure his lack of integrity. Or a threat of harm to their families? Or collective brain damage on top of a brainwashing having to do with “Who needs a democracy?”
Don’t they know history? I thought they should at least be able to read to become a Senator. Don’t they know what an autocracy looks like? Of course, they do, and they don’t care, for they’re looking at an autocracy from the top (like where Putin lives), where the money is, not from the middle or the bottom where people suffer from bad, money-hungry leaders. They are interested not in saving the planet or taking care of the not-so-wealthy so they themselves can have zillion-dollar weddings in a foreign city, where 200 private jets delivering other wealthy to the sickening show.
Stay tuned to your government, folks. There is still a chance that July 4 will not see a bill that has been honed to hurt us to the max.
