Yvon Hamilton Day, age 68, of Jefferson, passed away peacefully on June 29, 2025. She was born on June 9, 1957, to Adeline and Buck Hamilton and spent her life rooted in the Jefferson community she loved.
A proud graduate of Jefferson High School, Yvon dedicated many years of service to the Greene County Medical Center, where she was known for her compassionate spirit and caring heart. Her kindness extended beyond her work — she was a devoted mother, a loving wife, and a true friend to many.
Yvon had a deep love for music and could often be found singing or playing the piano, filling her home with joy and harmony. Her affection for animals was evident in the way she cared for every creature she encountered. As a single mother for many years, she gave her daughters the gift of unwavering love, strength, and dedication.
She is survived by her husband Tim Day; daughters Alicia and Holly; and her brother Jerry Hamilton. She was preceded in death by her beloved parents, Adeline and Buck Hamilton.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, July 8, 2025, at Slininger-Schroeder Funeral Home in Jefferson, Iowa, with Rev. Heather Dorr of First United Methodist Church officiating. Interment will follow at Jefferson Cemetery.
