Well, it has happened. I believed it as soon as I heard it third-hand – leavesdropping.
What does one say when war approaches? What does one do?
There is a lot of civil revolt – citizens contacting their representatives in the Senate and in the House. Red and Blue constituents diligently saying, “Stop the big bully!” A few thousand hanging around in downtown New York City and elsewhere yelling the same.
No one in charge has mentioned stopping him, taking him to jail, or someplace out of the way.
Because I am worried, verging on scared-to-terrified when my imagination flairs, angry, wishing for Obama, Kamala, Hillary, Bill, Schiff, George Bush – all these pols who seem to have no voice at all in dire straits. Especially compared to Bernie Sanders, who stopped mid-speech to condemn the criminal president; especially compared to AOC, who went online immediately.
Where are these once-leaders of our country? Listening to the news like us?
It’s time for me to write my elected reps today.
“Dear Senator: What are you, in particular, doing to stop him? Obviously, very little to date as we are now bombing . . . how frightening is that? Since you and the Congress have done nothing to prevent this, are you simply throwing up your hands and going home? You must have done so already.
What courage and leadership you have shown in your very important job.
I continue to look for answers to several questions I’ve sent to you in the past couple of months. Let me at least know what you’re too busy doing.
We are jittery out here, totally unprotected from our president. What a shaky situation you’ve contributed to.

“Dear Senator: What are you and the other Senators of America doing to STOP the unhinged warmonger at the helm? The country is on the verge of feeling terrorized, just where he wants us to be?
Please DO something to 86 him, and I am using the phrase in its origin of “get him out of” his unhinged leadership, get him out of OUR country; ICE him to a deep hole in El Salvador?

Dear House Representative: If you had the wisdom and compassion of DEI (diversity, equality, inclusion, in case you don’t recognize the acronym) in your body and brain to serve your constituency instead of bending the knee to a terrible TACO who in his own self-importance has taken the United States of American to the brink of war, I might feel there was some help at hand.
We tremble out here in our beloved country to have such a feckless narcissist putting the Western world in harm’s way because our elected protection (you) care naught for our Constitutional laws that you swore to uphold. Your position in history will be as big a copycat of a TACO as the leading chicken doing terrifyingly reckless acts to prove his chickenhood.

Sooooo, are we at war? Or are we not at war? Depends on your news outlet.
When did we start attending the “12-Day War”? Twelve days before June 22, the day our Prez unilaterally bombed three places in a foreign country (as far as we know it was unilateral; he does not need to tell the truth about anything). That would have made it June 13, and I don’t recall it being proclaimed that day.
He must have simply decided to call it that later, oh great wordsmith that he is.

Is the Big Beautiful Beat-up-the-Poor Bill through the Senate yet? Depends on the level of fear-of-the-leader each of our “representatives” (useless word these days) have to work with in what we call Congress.
A “congress” used to be a meeting of representatives from different states to discuss and make decisions on issues regarding the welfare of the citizens represented.

Please be aware that the U.S. government issued a rare global travel warning to all Americans everywhere to “exercise increased caution.” This is a worldwide security alert and not a travel ban. We are reminded that “It is a reminder to be prepared and informed.”
“The threat environment has shifted in ways that could impact American citizens abroad – and even at home.” This from Homeland Security’s full-lipped Kristi Noem, who adds that there is a “potential for cyberattacks and homegrown violent extremism lasting through the summer.”
Hmm. Is this to keep us non-violent marching protestors from treading our own streets in pointless dedicated resistance? We never can tell how our leaders are mis-leading us. Even the honest news outlets can’t keep up.
