In Greene County district court Camden Strennen, 18, of Jefferson was granted a deferred judgment after he changed his plea to guilty to a charge of possession of marijuana. He must pay a $430 civil penalty, restitution for his court appointed attorney’s fees not to exceed $500, and $100 court costs. Shera Dean Anderson, 31, of Jefferson was sentenced to 90 days in jail after he changed his plea to guilty to a charge of possession of methamphetamine. The sentence was suspended and he was placed on probation to Boone/Greene County Probation for one year. He must undergo a substance abuse evaluation and complete any treatment recommendations at his own expense. Anderson was fined $430 with a $64.50 surcharge. Melissa Sue Dopheide, 43, of Breda was sentenced to one year in jail after she changed her plea to guilty to a charge of operating vehicle without owner’s consent. The jail term was suspended and she was placed on probation to Boone/Greene County Probation for one year. She was fined $855 with a $128.25 surcharge; the fine and surcharge were suspended. Roger Keith Ketchum Jr, 37, of Jefferson was sentenced to 90 days in jail on a charge of assault on a peace officer, amended from assault on person in certain occupation. All but 10 days of the jail term was suspended. If he ever serves the jail term it will be consecutive to the jail terms in two other Greene County cases. He was fined $430 with a $64.50 surcharge. He was sentenced to 30 days in jail on a charge of harassment- second degree. The entire term was suspended. This jail term would also be consecutive to the previous listed term. If Ketchum serves jail time, he would serve 122 days, with all but 12 suspended. He was placed on probation to the Iowa Department of Correctional Services for two years. He was also fined $430 with a $64.50 surcharge on the harassment charge. A charge of interference with official acts was dismissed. Ketchum must pay an amount not to exceed $500 for his court appointed attorney’s fees and $100 court costs. A charge in magistrate court of interference with official acts was dismissed. Zachary Alan Armstrong, 39, of Jefferson was sentenced to two years in prison after he changed his plea to guilty to four counts of assault while display dangerous weapon. The prison term was suspended and Armstrong was placed on probation to the Iowa Department of Correctional Services for two years. If he serves the sentence it will be consecutive to the term in a magistrate case. He was fined $855 with a $128.25 surcharge; both were suspended. Court costs were $100. Two counts of harassment- first degree were dismissed. In magistrate court Armstrong was sentenced to 20 days in jail on a charge of interference with official acts. Melissa Marie Rysavy 29, of Scranton was sentenced to one year in jail after she pleaded guilty to a charge of harassment- second degree, amended from harassment- first degree. All but two days of the jail term was suspended and she was placed on probation to the Iowa Department of Correctional Services for two years. She was fined $430 with a $64.50 surcharge. Persons pleaded not guilty to charges as follows: Casey Roland Kennedy, 25, of Grand Junction, possession of marijuana; Kole Alexander Higgins, 30, of Grand Junction, driving while license barred; James Marvin Holmberg, 60, of Grand Junction, possession of contraband in a correctional facility and possession of marijuana; and Linda Sue Moran, 63, of Denison, operating while intoxicated- second offense. Trial dates were set for July 22 in every case.
