Wanda Lindsey, 1943 – 2025

Funeral services for Wanda Lindsey, 81, of Johnston, long-time resident of Jefferson, will be held Friday, May 2, 2025 at Slininger-Schroeder Funeral Home, Jefferson.  Interment will be in the Jefferson Cemetery. 

Wanda Lou Lindsey passed away peacefully April 29, 2025. She was born September 13, 1943, in Lake City. Wanda lived a life marked by warmth, hard work, and a deep love for her family and friends.

Wanda had a long and dedicated career, first working as a bookkeeper for Barrett Motor Supply and later serving as the general manager of NAPA Auto Parts in Jefferson. Her professionalism and leadership left a lasting impression on coworkers and customers alike.

Wanda is survived by her loving husband Dee Lindsey; her children Kevin Hebner (Amanda) and Kim Young (Jason); and her cherished grandchildren Madison (Dylan), Nolan, Sophie (Hunter), and Paige. She is also survived by her sister Jeanne Frederick (Dave Nesbit); nephew John Frederick (Janice); and nieces Sarah Frederick (Jason) and Ann Frederick (Matt).

Wanda found great joy in cooking and baking for her family and friends, spending time at the lake, and cheering on her beloved Iowa Hawkeyes. Her generosity, humor, and vibrant spirit will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the compassionate staff at Brio and to the hospice team for the exceptional care and kindness shown to Wanda in her final days. Your support and dedication meant the world to her and to all of us.

Funeral services were arranged by Slininger-Schroeder Funeral Home, Jefferson, Iowa.
