Wolterman sets GrCoHS record as track/field season begins

The 2025 track and field season is officially off and running for the Greene County Rams boys’ track team, and they’ve already been making some noise.

The Rams boy’s attended the recent A.D. Dickinson Relays March 10 at UNI, and they did see some overall positive results from those athletes in attendance, including one breaking of a school record.

Drew Wolterman set the school record in the 800 meter race, placing 12th with a time of 2:06.68. Noah Hinote placed 77th with a time of 2:18.07.

Zack Stalder placed 90th in the 200 meter dash with a time of  24.82, Christopher Daugherty placed 164th with a 26.03 and Lane Fields placed 213th with 28.26. Nick Stream placed 57th in the 400 meter dash with a time of 55.59 and Nick Black placed 179th with a 1:01.61.

Greene County placed 45th in the 4×200 relay with a time of 1:41.18 and they placed 52nd in the 4×800 relay with a time of 9:37.55. Crew Conner placed 39th in the high jump with a 5’6” jump and Zack Stalder placed 44th with a 5’4”. Kamden Kinne placed 69th in the shot put with a throw of 41’3” and Eyezayah Scheuermann placed 171st with a 33’01.75”.

The Rams also got another meet in when they attended the recent IATC Indoor Championships at ISU where they are also able to achieve good results while getting more live practice in.

Of the events, the Rams placed 14th in the 4×100 relay with a time of 45.95; they placed 7th in the 4×400 relay with a time of 3:37.95; and they placed 9th in the 1600 medley relay with a time of 3:47.38. In the individual events Broc Stream placed 11th in the long jump with a 19-06.50 and Kamden Kinne placed 14th in the shot put with a throw of 42’.

The Rams have a little bit of time off before their next meet which is scheduled to be the Simpson Co-Ed High School Classic that will take place at Bill Buxton Stadium in Indianola on March 25. After that the regular season will begin on April 1 with the Earlham Early Bird Meet.
