Greene County bowlers finish second season

In just their second season of existence, the Greene County Rams girls and boys wrestling teams saw great success.

Starting the girls squad, they placed sixth overall at their state qualifying meet with a score of 1,663 pins. The top team was St. Albert, with 2,503 pins. For the individual finishers, Allison Fields placed 11th with a 476 series, Trinity Hull placed 18th with a 414, Rozella Helms placed 27th with a 336, Shelby Finley placed 30th with a 300, Alivia Cornell placed 31st with a 297 and Hayleigh Rivera placed 32nd with a 256.

For the boys side, the team came just 142 pins away from qualifying for state as a team, and one bowler came just one place away from qualifying as an individual. Overall, the Rams placed second with 3,050 pins and the top spot went to St. Albert with 3,192 pins. The 3,050 pins for the Rams was a school record for 15 Bakers Games.

Overall, there were strong performances for the bowlers as Chase Fecher placed fifth, just one spot away from qualifying as an individual with a 615 series, Teagan Chisholm placed 12th with a 531, Trystan Cummings placed 14th with a 526, Lane Fields placed 21st with a 505, Calvin Fields placed 27th with a 475, and Jacob Rumley placed 32nd with a 441. This season was extremely successful for both squads as they were able to pick up some steam as the season progressed. This season will serve as more building blocks as the program continues with its third season next year for the Greene County Rams.
